last weekend, the BBC got together with some of the biggest names in comedy and entertainment to create the comic relief red nose day event. featuring spoof shorts from the various tv programs, the special guest list was very long indeed. below are a few of the highlights of the day (adele, the wanted, take that, jls and loads more!) and also if you want to donate click here

TV SPECIAL: BBC Children In Need performances (Cheryl Cole, Take That, JLS, Westlife, Alexandria Burke, Pixie Lott, Kylie Minogue, The Saturdays, Susan Boyle)

every year, the BBC organizes the Children in Need telethon featuring performances by all the pop favorites of the moment in the name of charity. donating almost 40 million pounds last year to childrens charities throughout the UK, the show pulled out all stops to try to top that number this year. we've collected most of the musical performances below, but check out the full schedule of the days events here.

[this is definitely a contender of pop ballad of the year! throw in the fact that JLS have turned themselves into one of the biggest boy bands in the UK in just 2 short years really makes me dig them more and more.]

[oh this song is so cheesy but i can't help but loving it!]


alexandra burke - start without you
[i actually really like this song, but i can't help feeling that this is the kind of 'caribbean' infused music that middle aged ladies boogie to feel down wit the 'ethnic'. personal issues, ignore me and watch alexandra entertain as always!]


pixie lott - turn it up
[not my favorite song of hers, but it's for charity!]


kylie minogue - better than today
[yeah... still a meh song]


the saturdays - higher
[bless... if there is one place that the saturdays are more mismatched as performers its probably during half time of a soccer game. oh well... its all for charity]


susan boyle - perfect day
[and what better way to end this random pop collection with good ol susan boyle. as usual her voice is impeccable. go forth and donate will ya?]

[i know the personal lyrics speak of the history between these two men, but the video REALLY plays up their brokeback mountain-esque relationship. if they wanted people to talk about it, well, they got their wish! perhaps the take that reunion later in the year will have ALL the boys semi nude in a group hug!]

NEW TURIN BRAKES!: turin brakes - seachange

[after almost having to disband due to financial troubles, turin brakes got a last minute save when they submitted a song to a little known pop band called take that. the song "here" ended up on their major comeback/ multi platinum selling album 'circus' and the rest is residual history. with their earnings, turin brakes were able to go back in the studio and record their latest album 'outbursts'. this is the first single and it's lover-ly!! like what you hear? go online and buy the album at various sites!]
