[whether this is a demo "leaked" out by her own peeps or not, this new track does showcase B trying for a more commercial euro sound. is this the direction of her new album? we shall see, but i'm definitely warming up to this track with every listen.]

[he's baaack! and it looks like he's finally found some clarity with his search to end his lifelong persona of loneliness. i love the yearning lyric "i was wasting my time, looking for love, someone must look at me and see their sunlit dream" (you can't fault the guy for continuing to have his heart on his sleeve! that's why we love him so!). taken off his upcoming greatest hits album, this is one of two new tracks before we get any brand new material late 2008. so cherish and grow up!]

[flooding the internet over the weekend, britney's 'comeback' single had the potential to be interesting, but something was missing... turns out a more bombastic beat and an awesome fan mash up featuring t.i. was the answer! now i'm all buzzed about this trailer trash's return to the charts. speaking of which, who are the gal enablers surrounding the brit-ster in the above pic? they just look like bad news!]

[you are not imagining things, kylie minogue has indeed contributed some accompanying vocals to the now-classic just jack single "i talk too much". easily one of my favorite songs off the 2006 overtones album, this new version is part of the repackaged US release coming out on august 28th. the album rocks, so go out and get it will ya?]

it's been an amazing week with new albums by sia, m.i.a. and now kate nash all making it in my inbox!

the 20 year old singer songwriter (who has garnered her own music genre of "chavtronica") has moved from buzz act to being a full fledged chart sensation in the uk as her much loved "foundations" single has been stuck at #2 in the top 10 for what seems like eons (since june 26th to be exact). so much so, her label has moved up the release of kate's debut album made of bricks to next week!

we've been loving kate for quite some time now, so i'm kind of finished with superlatives, but my bud xolondon came up with a really nice review of the album here.

album leak: mia - kala

fans of my blog know that m.i.a. is definitely one of my favorite acts around. with an arsenal of rhymes and insane beats, her 2005 debut album arular was easily the best that year. so when information came out that a new album was due for a late august release, it was enough to keep me giddy throughout the whole summer. imagine my total joy this morning when i woke up to find a copy of kala, a full month before it's street date!

recorded in india, japan and trinidad (with some US immigration issues in the process), m.i.a. once again collaborated with arular producers switch and diplo, but also threw in some sick tracks with timbaland.

the result is an adventurous collection that leaves the retro-electro of the last album behind and creates a diverse track list that incorperates hyper pop ("boyz"), some bollywood ("jimmy"), dark progressive beats ("bamboo banger") and sweet guests with a twist (like the wilcannia mob, a group of aboriginal street kids that offer up awesome rhymes in "mango pickle down river").

though the album isn't perfect, the eclectic influences of kala definitely makes this release a step up from whats out at the moment. the girl should be proud!

[i can't quite understand my fascination with girls aloud. not only are they kind of ruff on the edges (pinup gal, cheryl tweedy went from bar brawling chick to a footballers wife), but weirdly untalented as a group (see their T4 live performance above). but something about their 'wrong-ness' keeps me coming back for more. case in point, their latest single once again utilises the seemingly 12 songs in one format (heck, the 1st verse doesn't clock in until 1 min. 10 seconds into the song!). and sadly i already know how to sing the song after 3 listens. beyond guilty pleasure, this is crack people, crack!]

[it was inevitable that the (only) singer from pussycat dolls finally release something! check out the 1st single off her anticipated debut album her name is nicole that was recorded over a two year period. the album features tracks produced by timbaland, will.i.am and rumored tracks by ne-yo, but hot producer polow da don (ciara) take the first single honors.]

[ever the first to break songs, the normally pop blog chris pix passed on this awesome track from the upcoming m.i.a. album kala. the album was originally supposed to be for a june release but for some reason is now pushed back to august. with a barrage of producers including timbaland and diplo involved, i'm already gagging for more...hurry up already!]
