diddy feat christina aguilera - tell me / pussycat dolls feat timbaland - wait a minute (world premiere)
diddy feat christina aguilera - tell me
(it's so weird seeing christina looking like a ho-bag circa 2003 again. and it's like two bad dancers trying to outdo each other. hilarious!)
pussycat dolls feat timbaland - wait a minute
(next up trannys, i mean, the pussycat dolls go-go their way with their 4th single featuring and produced by timbaland. not his best work but then again he was probably distracted by these ladies)

lady sovereign's album public warning comes out next tuesday, but i gots me some rare b-sides!

lady sovereign - love me or hate me
with lady sovereign doing some serious damage over on TRL and various music channels, it looks like jay z's decision to sign the rappa to def jam was a good idea after all. the album public warning, drops on halloween and from what i've heard it also includes a few remixed tracks from her import album vertically challenged.
so on the hallowed eve of the album's release, i was super psyched to find a pretty rare vinyl release of hoodie/ch..ching that features the awesome spank rock on remix duties. the results are kickin! enjoy folks.

gwen stefani leaks out 1st single off her new album

fans of gwen stefani will be delighted to hear that the new mommy is releasing a new album called 'the sweet escape' the 1st week of december. with tracks recorded predominantly from the L.A.M.B. sessions, reports say that there will definitely be some new tracks thrown in (including collaborations with nellee hooper, dave stewart and keane's tim rice-oxley).
as for the albums 1st single "wind it up", the song has already leaked on the internet today or you can listen to it here.
weird al is having a pop cultural moment
things are getting surreal for musical spoofer weird al yankovic, rather than being a dated comedian who does lame spoofs of current songs, weird al has clocked in his highest ever ranking on the billboard top 200 albums (#10 and rising!) and has two singles in the hot 100! "what the f**k" is the call that's going around these days.
his 1st release takes on the massive chamillionaire hit "ridin" (he's changed it to "white and nerdy") and is surprisingly even featured on the rappers myspace site!
this is too weird of a phenomenom to not feature (cause lord knows i hate musical spoofs) so here you have it:

(i just love this band! not the best video, but who cares?)
jamelia - beware of the dog
(finally released. this should have been single #1 from the beginning)

listen to scarlett johansson sing "summertime"
the good folks over at stereogum have been mega-excited over the fact that perennial hottie scarlett johansson has signed to atco records to release an album sometime next year. [news] (allegedly a cover album of tom waits tunes, we can only imagine what that will sound like) but if you're curious about ms. johansson's voice, check out her contribution to the recent benefit album unexpected dreams: songs from the stars in which the likes of ewan mcgregor, jennifer garner and even lucy lawless perform with the LA philharmonic.
scarlett johansson - summertime
christina aguilera - hurt (world premiere)
christina aguilera --- hurt
co-directed by floria sigismondi (apparently christina calls herself a director too these days), there are a few amazing shots thats classic floria (if you are a fan of her work, you know exactly what i'm talking about).
[i'll put a clearer version once it's available]
here she is performing "hurt" amazingly at this years VMA's
and if you missed this performance of candyman at this years fashion rocks, it's pretty awesome!

the new robbie williams album rudebox bites, but the remixes are killer!

so the new robbie williams album rudebox has leaked on the net and after giving it a listen, i have to be honest and say that it's not very good. i don't know what happened especially since this album was supposed to just be about having fun retro/electro style (even the collborations with the pet shop boys are painful and dated). needless to say, i was a bit bummed...so it was a nice surprise when the guys over at ill-ec-tro-nic and blk:mrkt posted the awesome soulwax dub remix of robbie's latest single "lovelight". not only is it kicking with one of the best buildups i've heard in ages, but it improves on the album version by a thousand fold. while on a dance kick, i also found another remix, this time by the hot german remixer kurd maverick. enjoy these remixes... i sure have!
robbie williams - lovelight
(soulwax ravelight vocal)
(soulwax ravelight dub) [link 2]
(kurd mavericks main mix)
oh! and check out the original version of lovelight by lewis taylor that just rocks eons over robbie's cover. go and buy lewis' album too, the guy is super talented and deserves to be heard!

new video um... friday?
justin timberlake - my love
[poker face house remix]
(clocking in at 6 minutes, this version includes the awesome intro that's featured on the album, PLUS the choreography is a blast! love the song, love the dancing!)
spektrum - don't be shy
(naughty fetish video from a sexy sexy electro band! can't wait to hear their debut album!)
james yorkston - steady as she goes
(lovely song from james' upcoming album 'the year of the leopard')
nouvelle vague - dance with me
(i know, the whole mellowed out cover versions of alt songs that nouvelle vague have perfected is an old schtick, but i have to say that it really works especially this lover-ly version of the lords of the new church classic)

dodgy song, dodgy video, dodgy remix. why can't stop listening to it? fedde le grand - put your hands up for detroit
fedde le grand - put your hands up for detroit
(this song has been moving the dancefloors all summer long and finally getting a single release this month. of course it'll be a smash, it's catchy and has an amazing breakdown. and i can't stop dancing and listening to the song! argh!!)
check out the latest remix featuring king gordy and bizarre from d12. much more commercial, but will probably do the trick as a crossover hit. i can't deal...

let the dreamgirls hype begin! jennifer hudson's version of "and i'm telling you i'm not going" is heartbreaking!

with the bill condon movie version of dreamgirls slated for release in december, the media buzz around the film has consistantly been about the performance of effie given by ousted american idol, jennifer hudson. loosely adapting the pop career of the supremes, effie's legacy was cemented in broadway history when tony award winner jennifer holliday took away the honors back in 1982. ever since then, her swan song "and i'm telling you, i'm not going", has been a performance show stopper that hasn't been equalled; until now.
oscar buzz has been surrounding jennifer since the 15 minute preview at this years cannes film festival, and as december start to edge closer, her name will be everywhere. as for her version of the classic song, well... you'll have to hear it to believe it (crap, i was crying when this song ended)
jennifer hudson - and i'm telling you i'm not going [link 1 / 2]
and here is the legendary jennifer holliday performing at the 1982 tony awards. it also gives you a better idea of the story. (can you tell i'm addicted?)
you hooked?
here's some more dreamgirls video for you

to the left, to the left: beyonce - irreplaceable (world premiere video)
beyonce --- irreplaceable
(loved this song so much that when i chatted with her a few months back, i told her that even if she wasn't planning on releasing this song in the US, she should definitely do it for asia. looks like she had bigger plans all along!)
check out this live version of irreplaceable on good morning america

free legal lady sovereign mp3
the good ol' folks over at pitchfork are offering the 1st single off lady sovereign's new defjam backed album public warning. a wongie favorite of the summer, it's high time everyone got a copy of it!
while we're at it, the video just made the top 10 on TRL! is the crossover going to happen? i hope so!
don't say i never pass on things to you guys!
lady sovereign - love me or hate me
can't get enough of lady sovereign, check out her media player here

sugababes --- easy
(LOVE this song! but is drag the new glamour? first mads and now these gals?)
girls aloud - something kinda ooh

new video monday
all saints --- rock steady
(ah the return of the stroppiest group of ladies i've ever interviewed. hopefully being b-list celebrities for the past few years will have taught them to be more professional and well, hungry for pop greatness... we shall see)
my chemical romance - welcome to the black parade
(the new album is AMAZING! and this song just cracks me up cause of it's over the top-ness. dramatic yes, and there's nothing wrong with that)
robin thicke - lost without you
(i just love this song like, soooooo much! it definitely was my slow jam of the summer and everytime i see robin's poster around town, this song pops in my head)
vanessa hudgens - baby come back to me
(a tween jlo but without the annoying attitude and sagging career. this girl is dangerous jailbait!)
simian mobile disco - hustler
(too bad i'm not into girl on girl action, but if i was... hot!)
