[no explanation except for an announcement via twitter, MIA offered up a new tune today for all us to hear. i'd call it more of a teaser and less of an official release. do you think it also hints at the fact that her upcoming album will be more internal and spiritual??]

I think it's less deep than we think. This is what I read about the song and album. "M.I.A's new album is due for a summer release. The new tracks include “I Fight the Ones That Fight Me” and “I’m Down Like Your Internet Connection,” which actually features Filipino Verizon workers singing the hook. “I was having issues with my cable and wireless, and I was on the phone [with tech support] for three hours, and I thought, ‘Maybe this needs to be part of my music, could you just learn these lyrics and sing it down the phone to me?’ Ten phone calls later, I have Internet that sticks and a song.”
