how do you describe the joyous sound of laura mvula? telling intricate stories while piling on interesting vocal harmonies that swirl around you like magic. laura's music is not soul, but extremely soulful, not jazz, but the seemingly randomness of the way each song is written is almost LIKE jazz. it's as if she's created a whole new category of future jazz soul indie songwriting for a new era. it's glorious and i'm geeking out to her!!
