while the album has been delayed til the summer, bey offers fans a sneak peek snippet of the track 'standing on the sun' (written by sia/greg kurstin) via her h&m 'beyonce as mrs carter ad'. though i can't really see a swimsuit 'collection'(the hair/sand flinging gets in the way), the song sounds lovely though!

the track is fun for sure with it's syncopated beats (thanks to timbaland) but it's the wonderful african influenced grooves that really makes me excited to hear the studio version!

looks like the post x-factor US campaign began over the weekend as melanie amaro made her post win debut in this massive pepsi ad for superbowl sunday. check out the accompanying thumping remake of 'respect' in full below and tell me you secretly didn't mind it.

[popping up on jimmy kimmel last night, los angeles by way of NYC band grouplove offered up their brand of happy happy to a national audience. already buzzed since it was the main track for the ipod touch ad campaign late last year, i'm hoping these kids break through to crossover status very very soon!]

[like most people, we all heard this borderline blasphemous cover of the classic smiths song via the lovely john lewis xmas advert that's been passed around virally (see below). turns out amelia warner (aka slow moving millie) is putting out a whole album of covers featuring 80's classics from thompson twins, black and yazoo! i'm definitely curious (heck if birdy can do a whole ballad album of current indie hits, why can't amelia?)]

[currently playing every (what seems like) hour as the theme song for ford explorer cars, derby actually recorded this sweet airy ditty back in 2008 from their 'posters fade' album. hailing from portland, OR, this 5 man band are getting serious national exposure that hopefully they can sustain with their new material. if i can make a suggestion, perhaps they should re-shoot the video for this song first!]
