WONGIE VIDEO OF THE WEEK: fka twigs - cellophane

fka twigs - cellophane
after taking more than 4 years off due to health reasons, the incredible FKA twigs returns with her new single "cellophane" which showcases songwriting stripped down and totally vulnerable from what we know of her music. not only that, she took a year to learn how to pole dance because in her mind this video had to look a certain way (enhanced by the genius that is andrew thomas huang). what a wonderful return!!!

WONGIE SOUL JAM OF THE WEEK: kelela - lmk

kelela - lmk
kicking off her upcoming debut album 'take me apart', kelela is bringing her 90's soul sound with her latest single 'lmk' and it's all kinds of wonderful! throw in some warped grooves in the musical background and a non-binary dance party directed by frequent bjork collaborator andrew thomas huang and you've got our jam of the week!

WONGIE VIDEO OF THE WEEK: bjork - mutual core

bjork - mutual core
yeah... bjork has left the concept of song structure out the window for a few years now. what she does continue to do brilliantly is the marriage of technology and imagery into an artform; making her more of an artist than singer these days. i couldn't take my eyes off this andrew thomas huang piece commissioned by the LA museum of contemporary art (mixing puppetry and digital effects is SO cool yo!). genius or whacked out, whatever it is, you can't take your eyes off it!
