estelle feat john legend - fall in love

estelle feat john legend - fall in love
[perfectly cute summer jam made all the better with an appearance by jesse williams of greys anatomy. girls (and some boys), it's all in the eyes!!]

REEEMIX: estelle - freak (plastik funk remix)

estelle - freak (plastik funk remix)
[yeah.... this remix falls under hot! i love how estelle's verses doesn't begin until 3 mins in, then it goes all euro housey in the best possible way! yaaay!]

LIVE WONGIE: estelle feat kardinal offishall - freak (live @ BET's rip the runway)

estelle feat kardinal offishall - freak (live @ BET's rip the runway)
[this song is officially THE tranny song of the season! though i find it kind of silly, i'm sure at a club even i would drop a vogue for this!]

NEW ESTELLE!: estelle feat kardinal offishall - freak

estelle feat kardinal offishall - freak
[great trippy video with some interesting take on um... 'blackface'... freaky!]

NEW DAVID GUETTA!: david guetta feat estelle - one love

david guetta feat estelle - one love
[holy shizz, how many big stars did david guetta line up for his album? 3 for 3, that's a pretty amazing track record!]

AUDIO LEAK: noisettes feat wale and estelle - don't upset the rhythm (remix)

noisettes feat wale and estelle - don't upset the rhythm (remix)
[not quite sold on this remix for the US release, but the grouping alone is pretty impressive]

estelle - no substitute love (new video)

estelle - no substitute love [link 2]
[as much as i like this 3rd single (heck it even comes with a george michael "faith" reference!) from the album shine, i'm keeping my fingers crossed for a roots down version with just simple harmonies and guitars on the mix. oh, and somehow project runway christian siriano ended up in the video along with kelly rowland. weird!]

want more, check out another version of this song performed live on my favorite music show on the planet, later with jools holland!

new 'kinda' soul: estelle feat kanye west, leon jean marie, funkerman, sam sparro, taio cruz feat luciano

estelle feat kanye west - american boy [link 2]
[this wonderful second single by uk rapper/singer estelle is not only produced by will.i.am (isn't it weird how he continues to produce better songs for artists other than himself), but also features kanye as a collaborator. damn! moolah is being spent on this gal and all this effort sure is working! love her!]

leon jean marie - bed of nails [link 2]
[leon jean marie seems to be part of this new breed of acts that incorporate retro uk influences with soul funk to create something completely their own (see david jordan). produced by a certain mark ronson are you surprised this track has all these diverse influences involved?]

funkerman - speed up [link 2]
[considering that this tune is at least 2 years old and STILL causing buzz really tells you that a good song is hard to squash. disco-y and soulful, this usually falls under club music, but strip away the beats and you have a really wonderful tune here!]

sam sparro - black & gold [link 2]
[there's something really complex about this song (even though it sounds like 'fever' pt 2) and much has to do with sam's intricate vocal harmonies mixed in with a chilled out sexy groove. though the track has been around for ages, it continues to snake around in my psyche and linger. genius.]

taio cruz feat luciana - come on girl [link 2]
[though taio cruz has been making a name by doing ne-yo uk knockoffs, he ends up getting the biggest hit of his career by merging the current electro craze with soul music. the end result now sounds like a craig david knockoff. sigh... the guy just can't win!]

estelle - wait a minute (just a touch) (video premiere)

estelle - wait a minute (just a touch) [link 2]
[DAAAAYUMM when did uk rapper/singer estelle get so hot? looks like the label is going full on with her upcoming 2nd release cause this 1st single features john legend in the video and is produced by a certain will.i.am.]
