oh the total joy of this kylie minogue remix! shot lovingly in cuba by director sophie muller, the pop diva has managed to merge her current jaunt of country sounds with the reggaeton vocals of gente de zona to create one of the happiest things you'll see this weekend! what a perfect upgrade from the original track!

well looks like hell hath frozen over as mia & diplo have buried the hatchet and released a fun new remix of her current single 'bird song' (not without some behind the scenes drama with her label). claiming this is her last ever album, the reunion of the ex's does allow her career to come full circle if this is the case. either way, it's a perk for the fans!
birdy - words
as the official 3rd single off her album 'beautiful lies', i have to admit that i haven't been as vocal about these releases as i've been of birdy's work in the past. call it a case of good music that just falls by the wayside of 'sexier' releases, but every time i hear tracks from this album i think to myself 'i must talk about it', then forget. well... forget no more as the latest track is a gorgeous ballad (co-written by aussie conrad sewell) that showcases the 20 year old's maturing confidence in her vocal styles. i gotta say, i've been playing this a few times already!
but don't think I haven't been listening to birdy, for those following my carmix 2016, you'll be well versed in these lovely remixes of birdy tracks below (which i've been listening to more than the originals)

reworking the tamia soul classic "i'm so into you" into this dance banger (which we initially placed in our minimix), the brisbane duo odd mob is definitely turning into serious ones to watch status with their hot remixes and now this what will sure be a massive crossover release. turn this one up cause you'll be jammin to this throughout summer!

OST - fifty shades of grey remixed
though the film turned out to be a big successful meh, the wonderfully eclectic soundtrack of 'fifty shades of grey' continues to generate hits. which is probably why the label has decided to release a remixed companion album for the fans. the result is a surprisingly subtle collection of lush late night beats perfect for an evening of... um... staying in.
stromae - ave cesaria (major lazer remix)
though i still prefer the original, it's always nice to hear diplo and co do their magic on a track that you're familiar with. i wish there was more clever incorporation of the vocals, but this is a nice boogie for your day.

remixed by nudisorder, this 2011 track by norwegian chanteuse ane brun was originally featured on the deluxe version of her beautiful album 'it all starts with one'. now given a haunting dance groove, the song will definitely gain new fans (like myself) who just can't get enough of it. amazing!!
