NEW PATRICK WOLF!: patrick wolf - the falcon

patrick wolf - the falcon
[working with the fabulous artist norioko okaku, patrick gets himself a visual feast for his sweeping track! now swoon away at the images!]

NEW SONDRE LERCHE: sondre lerche - domino

sondre lerche - domino
[it's all very virgin suicides cult like isn't it? sondre lerche gets his wife mona in the directors chair and the result is a creepy suburban sister wives, meets witch vibe that is a nice companion piece to sondre's jazzy musical directions. couldn't look away...]

FOLK FRIDAYS: william fitzsimmons - the tide pulls from the moon

william fitzsimmons - the tide pulls from the moon
[taken from his latest album 'gold in the shadow', william continues his autobiographical approach to dealing with his personal milestones through music. of course it helps that he used to be a mental health professional, but it's his beautiful songwriting skills that make him stand out among his peers. i'm a fan and so should you!]

FOLK FRIDAYS: dry the river - new ceremony / bible belt (live @ watchlistentell)

buzzed for the past few months as another folk act that'll break into the mainstream in 2011, dry the river is made of norwegian peter liddle (he with the vibrato voice), punk rock drummer jon warren (he was once homeless!) and a tag of other members who create harmonies, string arrangements and all around band to watch skills. the impression is not immediate as mumford and sons were, but there is something interesting to want to hear more in the coming months.

FOLK FRIDAYS: admiral fallow - squealing pigs

admiral fallow - squealing pigs
[already released last year in scotland, the debut album, 'boots met my face', by the admiral fallow is getting a relaunch for UK audiences and beyond. their power folk sound is already getting them labelled as the new 'mumford and sons', but i'm hearing more of 'deacon blue' instead (and really aging myself in the process). they've intrigued me for sure and i can't wait to hear more of their album soon!]
