working with the assembled in sweden collective, jose gonzalez releases the beautiful space themed video to accompany the 1st single off his upcoming solo album 'vestiges and claws' (1st one in 8 years!!). recorded at home, this song definitely has that insular 3am in the morning solitary feel to it. so happy he's back!

[fans of jose gonzales will be pleased to hear that he hasn't gone awol but in fact regrouped with his decade old side project junip to not only release an upcoming album, but tour all summer long. jose has no plans to release solo material at the moment, so if you're a hardcore fan, junip is the only way you'll see him this year. thanks to rcrd lbl for offering the free mp3 of their current single!]
jose gonzalez - teardrops [link 2] [i can't believe it's taken this long for jose gonzalez to release this massive attack cover version. one of the highlights of jose's live performances since 2006, gonzales added it to the track listing for his 2007 album in our nature and FINALLY put it out in 2008. btw, don't you dig the 70's inspired animation? i sure do!]

wisely - through any window [link 2] [when the ever cool actress jenna fischer (aka pam beesley from the office) fawns over a band, she's pretty whole hearted about it. so much so that when california singer songwriter, willy wisely asked her to be in his latest video, she agreed instantly (even though 80% of it is through a bunch of polaroids which she happily posed for). told you she was cool! wisely's album parador is available through itunes.]
handsome furs - cannot get started [link 2] [yet another side project from an established band member, this time it's dan boeckner from montreal's wolf parade and his wife alexei perry. the duo, handsome furs, try to make as much beat driven noise with their music but through sparse instrumentation. i kind of dig it! check out their album plague park if you like what you hear too.]
shy child - summer [link 2] [ny duo shy child continue to find buzz abroad with their nu-rave, rock, dance sound. noise won't stop is the album to find this latest gem (can you tell my brain is fried? see you guys in a few days).]
