[i have to say that i was a little bit skeptical about watching hairspray: the musical on film, but the good news is that all the camp and cheekiness of the previous two productions really shine through in this remake of a remake. then there's the fact that there's something for everyone here. the teens can go swoon over zac efron and the adults can go giddy by watching christopher walken do the tango with ahem...john travolta. other personal favorites include michelle pfiffer singing about the days of being miss baltimore crabs and a big finale where john travola shimmy's like she's in nutmeg city limits. hey it's pop day, do i care how uncool you think i am?]
keyshia cole feat missy elliot and lil kim - let it go [link 2]
[any song that samples mtume's 'juicy' and big-up's the notorious b.i.g. is personally grounds to be an instant favorite. apparently keyshia wanted to work with missy so bad that she gave her a call in hopes she'd do anything with her. next thing you know, missy ropes in lil kim for the collaboration and boom, you not only do you get a summer jam, but the lead single off her sophomore album just like you (scheduled for a september 11th release!). don't you love how easy things come together?]
