[FINALLY, the follow up to the awesome 'great dj' song, which ironically is the song that introduced the ting tings to many folks in the first place. no issue here since 'that's not my name' still gives me happy vibes 5 months after the fact! with their debut album we started nothing coming out in may, 'great dj' being featured as the free song of the week on itunes (starting tomorrow!) AND they provide the song to the new ipod campaign, looks like the ting tings are onto big big tings this summer! (sorry couldn't resist). thanks to zeon for the tip]

wongie redux: ONCE - the movie

fans of my music world know that i've pretty much decided ONCE to be one of my favorite films of 2007. though i hyped the film a few months prior to it's release, i still tell everyone that this is the movie to see this summer.

so much so, the other day i dragged a few friends with me to watch the film again (to their surprise since it's been ages that i've actually PAID to go see a film) and on second viewing i have to say ONCE still holds that sweet gentle place in my heart.

maybe it's the simplicity of the film, or the fact that i have similar feelings about life and music, but i'm not the only one. currently the #1 soundtrack on itunes and doing some serious box office on just 127 screens (3 million yo!), it's great to know that the film is resonating with a larger audience!

sia returns with a new single and then some

it's like an early xmas present especially since i wasn't really looking for this. but within a 5 minute interval, i not only found two demos from sia that she leaked online, but also an internet only new single via itunes. all this is in preparation for her upcoming 2007 album which from the sounds of it, will be even more eclectic and larger than colour the small one. i can't wait!
