oh boy, this 1st single off the upcoming album by kiwi indie kids naked and famous is faaaabulous!! floating on a wall of synth, loud guitars and choir, lead singer alisa xayalith just brings the listener into a world of suburban teenage wasteland and creepy melancholia. can't wait to hear what the rest of their album will sound like!

[call me a sucker for slow motion (and things breaking along the way!), but new zealand indie band the naked and famous offer up a nice kill bill-esque themed video that's mesmerizing yet simple (thank you directors special problems). it helps that the song is pretty awesome too!]

[new zealanders the naked and famous are currently garnering positive raves over in the UK with their european tour (they even picked up an nme award!). i fell in love with this track last year and here is the official video for the song (which kind of reminds me of a female fronted passion pit). can't wait to see them on our side of the pond!]
