moby collaborates with debbie harry for new greatest hits album
whether you love him or not, moby has had a very big impact on bringing dance music to the masses over the past decade. starting off as a rave icon, then slowly morphing into a record label priority by sampling soulful classics over snazzy beats (oh, and don't forget that he then licensed every track for commercial use and became a rich man in the process). no matter what he does, there's always a nice curiousity factor in moby's work that makes me return time after time.
so when i heard that he's recorded a few new tracks with debbie harry to put on his upcoming greatest hits collection go - the very best of moby, i was once again curious enough to hear how the sessions turned out.
though i'm not completely won over, the fact that these two new york icons have merged is enough reason to check out what they've done.
[one week only]
moby feat debbie harry - new york, new york (jeremy wheatley remix)
moby feat debbie harry - new york, new york (armand van helden radio mix)
oh and here's another one from the debbie harry sessions
moby feat debbie harry - go (2006) [zshare]
since there's no video for the single yet, check out the alternative video version of the song directed by local celeb reverend jen that's approved by moby himself.
[update 11/2006: check out moby talking about his version of new york on CNN]
while we're at it, can you believe that it's been 15 years since 'go' first was released? am i really that old? (don't answer)
check out the original video of moby's go.
