i have to say, putting together two of my fave hip hop tenors (albeit slightly autotuned) together in one song is a smart move! throw in the fact that it's the first single off the upcoming spider man animated film (which if you stayed til the end of venom you'd have seen the impressive clip) and i'm now even more curious about the whole project. great pop song, cool video, i'm in!

after releasing some serious duds over the past year, jlo gets it seriously right with her latest single. not only is the song catchy and perfectly breezy, but there seems to be a buoyancy in her step that we haven't seen in awhile. throw in the fact that the video is packed with gratuitous men and you've got something for everyone. nice one!

aw yeah!! single #4 from iggy is not only a fun jam but pulls in the underrated charli xcx (who sure can write a pop hook) for some of the action. throw in the fact that the video is inspired by 'clueless' and we are in happy camper land!

though the album is almost 9 months old, j cole still manages to offer up compelling videos to bring new interest to his singles. don't want to give anything away, but lets just say skipping school for this young skateboarder doesn't turn out too good for him.

here's a perfect example of a hot song that i've been bopping to on my carmix for more than 2 months and only now realized that i never posted on my music blog! easily a fan favorite from the macklemore/ryan lewis album and now getting the crossover love that it deserves. heck, it makes ME wanna drive a cadillac now!

definitely more mainstream than his previous effort trampoline, this has an air of 'important' rap/pop song for the masses and could well offer some serious crossover appeal to US radio. what do you think?

cutie canadian rapper classified gets olly murs to provide the new vocals for his big hometown hit 'inner ninja'. it's hella catchy and will definitely get some play when the song gets released internationally. nice one this!

k koke feat rita ora - lay down your weapons
with 2 hot mixtapes and a bidding war (that led to rapper k koke signing to roc nation), it all came tumbling down in late 2011 when the rapper was arrested for attempted murder but then released 7 months later because of lack of evidence. that experience makes this single all the more poignant and interesting (it also helps that it's hella catchy and bound for crossover success). i have a feeling we'll be hearing ALOT of this guy in 2013!
