WONGIE BEST OF 2017: sufjan stevens - mystery of love (OST call me by your name)

sufjan stevens - mystery of love (OST call me by your name)
though 'mystery of love' sits happily at #13 of wongie's best songs of 2017 it doesn't mean that i don't swoon every time i hear it. but now with this wonderfully curated video featuring scenes from 'call me by your name' we can all swoon together at the beautiful summer that elio/oliver spent together. ah... swoooon some more!!!

NEW SUFJAN STEVENS!: sufjan stevens - tonya harding

sufjan stevens - tonya harding
obsessed with the fallen figure skater since the 90's, sufjan finally finished his ode to tonya harding. unfortunately it didn't fit into the upcoming i,tonya movie, so he's decided to release it on it's own as a parallel celebration of this woman. you'll be touched. go see the magnificent film this weekend too!

WONGIE SONG OF THE WEEK: sufjan stevens - wallowa lake monster

sufjan stevens - wallowa lake monster
taken off his upcoming 'the greatest gift mixtape', this is a track that was never used for sufjan's last album 'carrie & lowell'. now it's part of 4 unreleased songs mixed in with demos and alternate versions of those sessions. it's a beautiful heartbreaking story of sufjan and his mother and i'm so happy that he's shared it with his fans. SO good!

ALBUM STREAM: sufjan stevens - carrie & lowell

sufjan stevens - carrie & lowell
written in response to the death of his mother in 2012, this could be sufjan's most personal album which makes for a highly intimate experience. give yourself the space and listen to this sad gorgeous album.

VIDEO PREMIERE: sufjan stevens - no shade in the shadow of the cross

sufjan stevens - no shade in the shadow of the cross
looks like it's a return to sufjan's folk roots with the premiere of the 1st song from his upcoming album 'carrie & lowell'! there's very little else that is out there on this release, so for now, press play and enjoy the kooky lyrics.

TRAILER SOUNDTRACK TROLL: babies

babies
[from the website:
"Everybody loves... BABIES. This visually stunning new movie simultaneously follows four babies around the world - from first breath to first steps. From Mongolia to Namibia to San Francisco to Tokyo, BABIES joyfully captures on film the earliest stages of the journey of humanity that are at once unique and universal to us all."]

if you like the song played throughout the trailer, you'll be pleased to find out that it's by wongie favorite, sufjan stevens taken from the 2006 album "The Avalanche: Outtakes and Extras from the Illinois Album". here it is in all it's glory!
