breaking all records of first week sales on itunes (600,000 and counting!) beyonce's surprise release has been stumping her fans with the progressive future soul nature of her album, but easily 'xo' is the most commercially viable single off the collection. co-written by ryan tedder ("halo"), there's something so empowering and wonderfully 'end credits' about this track. easily my fave!
beyonce feat jay z - drunk in love
almost a total 180 comes this structurally loose jam featuring bey's husband jay z. what is amazing on this number is the total sense of joy that just penetrates the gansta grooves. takes a few listens, but i'm digging!
