it's been 3 years since chvrches have put out an album and their return was made with the help of  super producer greg kurstin (adele), who is giving their synth sound an edgier spin. kicking off with the super catchy "get out", the promo video also features a possible collaboration with the national (look for the telephone number), which makes this upcoming album even more intriguing! welcome back!!!

definitely a more confident sophomore release, 'every open eye' continues to showcase chvrches strong pop songwriting sensibilities filtered with their 80's synth celebratory skills. of course lauren mayberry makes the best frontwoman for all this perfection. between ryan adams and this album, today has been a great day for music!

the 3rd track to be released from the hyper buzzy lorde curated soundtrack, this time the eponymous chvrches bring their contribution to the upcoming release. it's definitely an all star collection of wongie faves (stromae, tove lo, major lazer and even grace jones!), can't wait to hear the full release!

as part of bbc 3's broadcast of the now classic film 'drive' on oct 30th, the filmmakers and bbc have asked radio 1 dj zane lowe to curate a whole new set of performances to be replaced as the new score for this showing. featuring bastille, banks, the 1975, laura mvula, plus loads more, this chvrches track gives you a preview of whats in store! totally curious how this will affect the film as the original score was SO integral to the film. oct 30th if you're in the UK people!

it's kind of amazing how fast this electro pop trio have risen in the past year! with their catchy songs and cutie lead lauren becoming the obsession of many a hipgal and fanboy, it's great to end the year with the first song that made me buzz for them back in the day. officially their new single, this is chvrches at their best (though the mother we share is still my fave song of their repertoire)

yeah... this glasgow based electro synth pop trio of Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook and Martin Doherty are pretty darn wonderful! making the kind of perfect 80's driving theme song soundtrack, chvrches was one of the finalists for the bbc sound of 2013 (they came in 5th) with their previous singles ranking high in the nme year end list. get ready to hear more in the coming months!
