COOL MIX: say lou lou - better in the dark

say lou lou - better in the dark
already embraced by the fashion elite, this aussie born/sweden based sister act of miranda and elektra kilbey (aka say lou lou) are making the kind of dreamy pop that got them placed on the bbc sound of 2014 list earlier this month. with strong choruses like in this song, they definitely are going to make serious waves in the coming year!

WONGIE SONG(s) OF THE WEEK: josh record - bones / the war

i actually have been weirdly sitting on posting about UK singer/songwriter josh record for quite some time. both his releases (see below) have been beautiful solaces on my ipod/spotify mix as i walk through my city, allowing me to drift under the spell of his gorgeous vocal layers. i'm finally giving this lovely chap a proper write up as he preps for his debut album (produced by the guy who helped ben howard break into the mainstream). definitely on my one to watch 2014 list, i heart josh record!

WONGIE VIDEO OF THE WEEK: rhye - open

rhye - open
once again, the superbly secretive LA based duo of rhye, offer up a wonderfully captivating video which showcases the uncertainty of couples that director daniel kragh jacobsen set up in his previous collaboration with them. throw in a cameo from that video's couple and you see a thread that will hopefully continue in future videos by the band. oh did i mention i love these songs too?
