i swear, i veer from borderline liking this track to being totally ambivalent with it. you got to give props to katy, cause she is trying something new, but.... not good. it's repetitive and it's neither here nor there with little moments of pop miracle. who knows if this will be the crossover hit she wants, but for now this is the proposed song of the summer!

world premiered during the billboard music awards, adele's latest single is probably the most commercial 'pop' number from her 25 album (co written by max martin yo!) and still a fave after all these listens. working with patrick daughters (who hasn't shot a music video in ages!) adele goes full on kaleidoscope on us and even does a bit of a dancing in the video! nice one!

setting up a most likely entertaining soundtrack for the upcoming animated film trolls, justin timberlake returns with this max martin summer anthem that you'll be hearing ALOT of in the coming months! featuring his co-stars anna kendrick, gwen stefani, james corden, kunal nayyar, ron funches and icona pop, the whole gang gather up to bop to this uber catchy pop number. will we be getting a proper JT album then? that remains to be seen.

i get it when an artist wants to break from their usual sound and try new things. but if this max martin produced track is any indication, ellie goulding may be in for a surprise if the response isn't as excitable from her fans. i'm not too sold on the song, but at least ellie looks great (and flaunts it) in the emil nava video!

[UPDATED: now with the hype williams directed video, the song has definitely grown on me more since it's debut a week and a half ago] it's the return of adam lambert in the form of a strong dance pop number produced by max martin / shellback that is destined to be a hit. my only issue with the song is their need to add that dub bass which i find unnecessary since the song could do with some subtler cooler groove. this probably means the remixes are right around the corner, but for now this sets up what could be a big big year for adam!

taylor seems to have taken some notes from bestie lorde and come up with this uber awesome pop (with a sprinkle of indie) number. co-written by smashmakers max martin and shellback, throw in the very cute sean o'pry, offer perfect direction by joseph khan and you've got the best packaged pop song you'll hear this week!!

well this is a bit of a different turn for our pop princess. a slow icy snap crackle pop number that's nicely produced by dr luke and max martin. though it's not an official 2nd single, it definitely offers up a bit of diversity from what we usually expect from our katy.

IT'S LYRICAL: katy perry - roar

with it's insta-catchy piano chords and twee lyrics, the redeeming factor of the supposed katy perry 3.0 makeover is it's uber catchy 'you're gonna hear me roar' chorus (the whole song weirdly reminds me of the current sara bareilles single 'brave') co-written by dr luke, max martin AND bonnie mckee (it takes 3 to make a hit go right!), not sure how this reflects a new katy, but who cares, you'll be singing along to this pop ditty in seconds time!

teen rap sensation rebbeca marie gomez aka becky g gets an official track co-written by heavy hitters dr luke and max martin (which is probably why there is some hot beatz mixed in with a tween friendly chorus). already featured on other kid friendly acts cher lloyd and cody simpson, this mexican rapper/singer is set for some serious greatness if this radio friendly future hit is anything to go by!
