WONGIE DANCE POP SONG OF THE WEEK: deorro feat erin mccarley - i can be somebody

deorro feat erin mccarley - i can be somebody
how nice to see deorro collaborating with singer/songwriter erin mccarley and coming up with this subtle future edm pop anthem (don't get me wrong all the tricks are there, but it feels perfectly natural). it's a smash, now it's just a matter of when!

NEW LITTLE BIG TOWN!: little big town - day drinking

little big town - day drinking
my fave country foursome return with the first single off their upcoming new album 'painkiller' and it's a catchy singalong jam that you'll literally be whistling along to in no time!

WONGIE DISCOVERY: johnnyswim - heart beats

johnnyswim - heart beats
i love the experience of discovering an act without any pre-buzz from other blogs or magazines, instead this soulful folk gem played on my tv while i was working and forced me to stop and just listen (thank you vh1). made up of nashville based songwriters amanda sudano and abner ramirez, the civil wars comparison is inevitable, but there is a definite mature twist here (vocals/arrangement) that i find wonderfully captivating. they're on the radar and should be on yours too!

VIDEO PREMIERE!: kings of leon - supersoaker

kings of leon - supersoaker
having the instagram effect on this video is kind of taking away from how lovely the song really is. caleb sounds amazing AND he smiles quite a bit here. so, double awesome!!

UPDATE: as an extra gift, KOL offer up a brand new album track for their fans... and it's pretty darn awesome! press play below:

6 SONGS YOU NEED TO BE OBSESSED WITH NOW: clare bowen and sam palladio - if i didn't know better (nashville soundtrack)

clare bowen and sam palladio - if i didn't know better (nashville soundtrack)
who'd have thought that a civil wars cover at the tail end of a new tv show about nashville would spark a top 10 itunes hit? probably the best thing from the uneven pilot (which you get to see some footage of in the video), this tune just lingers and haunts you for days on end. it's glorious!
