SONG OF SUMMER 2015: prince royce feat jennifer lopez & pitbull - back it up

prince royce feat jennifer lopez & pitbull - back it up
bringing on his bronx buddy jlo into the mix, this is pretty much a straight up happy go lucky summer jam that sets out to bring a nice bop to your step. looks like prince royce has a big crossover hit on his hands!

THE SOUND OF BAD: jennifer lopez feat iggy azalea - booty

jennifer lopez feat iggy azalea - booty
there's something so desperate here with this horribly un-sexy piece of meh. starting with the cheap (and tacky) visuals by director hype williams to the post stripper over gyration of jlo and the blandness of iggy azalea's contribution (oh did i mention diplo produced the track?). everything seems calculated for maximum effect (9 million views and counting) but nothing seems genuine in the process. like i said, desperate.

AUDIO PREMIERE: jennifer lopez feat iggy azalea - booty (remix)

jennifer lopez feat iggy azalea - booty (remix)
originally featuring pitbull on the rap verse, jlo ropes in iggy for the remix and hopes to create some buzz on her current meh period. to be totally honest, i kinda wished that iggy took the lead on the song with jlo as a vocal hook instead (the only good things on this diplo produced track are the 'booty' hook and iggy) oh well... i'm sure the upcoming hype williams video will be fabUTTlous!

WEEKEND CATCH UP: jennifer lopez - first love

jennifer lopez - first love
though the song does nothing for me, the appearance of david gandy does ALOT more! watch and swoon ladies and some men!

NEW JENNIFER LOPEZ!: jennifer lopez feat french montana - i luh ya papi

jennifer lopez feat french montana - i luh ya papi
after releasing some serious duds over the past year, jlo gets it seriously right with her latest single. not only is the song catchy and perfectly breezy, but there seems to be a buoyancy in her step that we haven't seen in awhile. throw in the fact that the video is packed with gratuitous men and you've got something for everyone. nice one!

VIDEO PREMIERE: jennifer lopez - same girl

um #pukemenow
nothing like getting back to your roots by going back to the bronx (via 6 train no less "you got that shot of the number on the train right?"), walk the streets ("make sure you separate me from them with a fence") and sing on top of a rooftop ("the orchestra will be waiting for me there right?") to claim your 'realness'. why do i have a feeling her jacket cost more than a persons rent in that area? just sayin...

VIDEO PREMIERE!: jennifer lopez feat pitbull - live it up

jennifer lopez feat pitbull - live it up
jeez, what a hot mess of a song! it's got 4 things going on at the same time at this hyper speed all the while fronted by a trannified jlo. weirdly this is heading into guilty pleasure territory.

NEW VIDEO!: wisin & yandel feat jennifer lopez - follow the leader

wisin & yandel feat jennifer lopez - follow the leader
[normally this wouldn't make my blip, but the parkour filled video with jlo and crew running around the streets of acapulco is actually kind of cool. director jessy terrero does a very solid job of streamlining the stunts with the actual stars and in typical jlo fashion, product placement is heavily involved. it's OTT and shameless and well, i watched it from beginning to end... like you will too!]

VIDEO CATCH UP: jennifer lopez - papi

jennifer lopez - papi
[totally preposterous and one massive product placement ad, but i still watched it till the end. glad to see SYTYCD choreographers nappytabs working the moves and alum ade front and center in the group dance!]

HOT MAN IN VIDEO ALERT: jennifer lopez feat lil wayne - i'm into you

jennifer lopez feat lil wayne - i'm into you
[the song is meh but thank the hot gods for bringing cuban actor william levy onto our screens. yum!!!]

THE SOUND OF BAD: jennifer lopez feat pitbull - fresh out the oven

[no, really... don't call it a comeback... i don't even have to say anything, just press play and watch your ears bleed]

jennifer lopez - que hiciste (world premiere)

jennifer lopez - que hiciste (remix)
[1st single off the upcoming spanish album Como Ama Una Mujer, this video, directed by michael haussmann (madonna, shakira, justin), is actually a pretty good return for jlo. apparently written from a dream that husband marc anthony had about singer rocio durcal, this earthy track might just fix her tanished image... we shall see]
