petit biscuit feat lido - problems
petit biscuit (aka mehdi benjelloun) has not only come up in the past two years as a wonderful dance producer, but also released some gorgeous tracks that made it to our best songs of 2017 list. finally releasing a video for his collaboration with fellow dance producer lido (he got him to sing vocals!), this 18 year old talent is bound for bigger things in the coming year. LOVE this song!

WONGIE INDIE SONG OF THE WEEK: alt - j - 3WW

alt-j - 3WW
oh my gosh, this song is SO good! as if wandering the hallways, veering into different songs, one minute there's hints of west african tones, then it's a beautiful duet (featuring ellie roswell from wolf alice) next to a fuzzy trippy number, which surprisingly all makes total sense. it's kind of genius and kicks off anticipation of their new album 'relaxer'. chill never sounded so exciting!!

WONGIE CHILL REMIX OF THE WEEK: gavin james - i don't know why (danny avila remix)

gavin james - i don't know why (danny avila remix)
easily one of my fave male vocalist of the past few years, irish singer/songwriter gavin james just brings it in every time with his smooth falsetto. what's also interesting is that every remix of his guitar based tracks work to the point of enhancing from the original. this one from danny avila is no exception, just press play, sit back and kind of swoon away. happy weekend folks!

AUDIO PREMIERE: britney spears feat g-eazy - make me

britney spears feat g-eazy - make me
oh damn! this burns produced new track for britney spears is actually good... like REALLY good! by the time the harmonious chorus kicks in, i'm totally sold on this hopefully new direction of our pop princess. please don't release anything with the word 'bitch' in it ever again!

WONGIE CHILL SONG OF THE WEEK: maggie rogers - alaska

maggie rogers - alaska
after blowing away pharrell williams at a music nyu masterclass (to which the video went viral), singer songwriter maggie rogers releases her meditative dancey folky spacey number to the masses and got herself immediately into the apple itunes charts and spotify fresh music list. it's amazing how we can all discover music these days!

WONGIE VIDEO OF THE WEEK: radiohead - daydream

radiohead - daydream
radiohead's latest offering before the release of their full album (this sunday!) is a lush 6'26" interconnected maze of rooms and locations brought together by director paul thomas anderson. to say more is to take away from the hypnotic visual once you press play, so just do it already!

NEW LANA DEL REY: lana del rey - high by the beach

lana del rey - high by the beach
nothing like creating a weed loving breakup anthem for the late summer. with a random bazooka blasting video accompanying her chill single, this is a welcome return to a more poppier sound after the psychedelica of her last album. nice one.

WONGIE DISCOVERY: elliot moss - slip / best light / slip (hippie sabotage)

getting serious buzz this week as part of zane lowe's first ever beats 1 playlist on apple music AND featured in the viral dance video choreographed by so you think you can dance alum phillip chbeeb, bedroom electronic soul singer/songwriter elliot moss is having a very important week. with his debut album set for september, this 21 year old looks set to offer up the soundtrack for introspective music lovers in the coming months. we are curious for sure!

NEW JANET JACKSON!: janet jackson - no sleep

janet jackson - no sleep
after a 7 year break, comes the much anticipated, surprisingly low key, return of janet jackson. working with jimmy jam and terry lewis, hopefully this is a subtle foray back into 'ms jackson if your nasty' land, cause this track leaves me definitely wanting much more.

jarryd james - do you remember
already a smash back in his home of australia, singer songwriter jarryd james is poised to do some serious crossover especially on the back of chilled out soulful introspective jams like this. get to know this name, cause you'll be hearing quite a bit of him in the coming year.

jamie xx feat romy - loud places
with his debut album 'in colour' set for a summer release, jamie xx brings us his latest single featuring his xx co-member romy madley croft on vocals. the melancholic chill ballad evolves into a gospel-esque singalong with the sadness deeply rooted through the tune. it's all sorts of brilliant really!

laura welsh - soft control
we've been long fans of uk singer/songwriter laura welsh since we heard her chilled out soulful tunes back in 2013 and we can now celebrate the official US release of her debut album featuring ALL the hits (plus a new duet with john legend) that we've grown to love. with the track 'undiscovered' placed in the #1 soundtrack for '50 shades of grey', things are definitely buzzing for our gentle chanteuse!

ane brun vs nudisorder - one last try
remixed by nudisorder, this 2011 track by norwegian chanteuse ane brun was originally featured on the deluxe version of her beautiful album 'it all starts with one'. now given a haunting dance groove, the song will definitely gain new fans (like myself) who just can't get enough of it. amazing!!

CHILL MIX: naughty boy feat professor green, laura mvula, wilkinson & ava lily - pardon me

naughty boy feat professor green, laura mvula, wilkinson & ava lily - pardon me (lynx peace edit)
to be perfectly honest, the original version on naughty boy's album 'hotel cabana' is much better than this curiosity collaboration brought together by the deodorant brand lynx. but as it is a wacky gathering, just give it a check out before falling in love with the original below.

naughty boy feat tanika & ava stokes - pardon me
