in the past few weeks lykke li has been very gracious about giving fans album tracks and buzz singles for her upcoming new album (in 7 years!) 'so sad, so sexy'. in keeping with the theme of the title, her new video for 'hard rain' directed by the incredible anton tammi allows us an in depth look at such a tumultuous relationship. the video is also deeply gorgeous and has some fancy camerawork thrown in. definitely press play and get lost!

oh what wonderful imagery from director sheila johansson to showcase swedish singer seinabo sey's awesome return single 'i owe you nothing'. building slowly til a full on choir kicks in by the end, seinabo is playing with the sound of soul by giving it a bare bones alt twist that is distinctly all hers. i've been a fan since her last album and i gotta say, this kicks it up a major notch! turn it up!!!

swedish folk sisters klara and johanna söderberg (aka first aid kit) have continued their journey celebrating old skool country/americana in their latest album 'ruins'. releasing 'fireworks' as an album preview track late last year, they've now officially made it a proper single with a creepy 80's prom theme (with a rapture involved) accompanying video. we loved this song so much that it made our best of 2017 song list and remains a fave!! LOVE THIS SONG!

doing some serious counter releasing here, but swedish singer/rapper elliphant has put out a darker christmas carol for the season and it's kind of beautiful. taken from her upcoming album 'living life golden' this is your anti xmas anthem. you're welcome!

the seafox mascot returns to wreck some boogie havoc with yet another instantly catchy dance/disco number for the masses. with the swedish duo christian karlsson (miike snow) and linus eklow (dj style of eye) releasing a full length debut under their side project moniker 'galantis', this will be a busy year for these guys. just lovingly wackadoo to make it quirky fun, this will be yet another big hit for these guys!

we've been fans of swedish singer loreen ever since her eurovision win back in 2012. though she still remains a star back in the EU zones, intl success seems to have eluded her. to be honest, it doesn't matter since the woman continues to put out interesting signature releases that places loreen in her own category. with a new single just out, the label competes with itself by putting out this 'revisited' version by salvatore ganacci and it's pretty damn hot! definitely on repeat!

btw, there is nothing wrong with the original single. it's a wonderful slice of smart pop, which is what we love from our loreen. check it out below:

this is easily the most pop friendly release by swedish singer erik hassle and hopefully it'll bring more fans to the soulful singer/songwriter and a longtime wongie favorite.

after gaining major buzz remixing the seinabo sey smash 'younger' (see below), norwegian dj/producer kyrre gørvell-dahll (aka kygo) releases his debut single with this wonderfully chill house number with up and coming aussie soul pop singer/songwriter conrad sewell fronting the vocals. it's an insta-hit so get ready to be hearing this track (and the inevitable remixes) ALOT in the coming months. you have been warned!

talk about wonderful, mashing together all the awesome 80's pop tropes with an underlying ambient ballad, this track is a nice original amongst formulaic pop these days. throw in all the real life friends and family that adam bainbridge (aka kindness) and robyn love, you get a lovely sentiment for this lovely song.

swedish pop songwriter tove lo is currently causing quite a stir with her 'habits (stay high)' single here in the states (plus the remix did VERY well everywhere else), and is looking to find similar success with her rockier new track 'not on drugs'. i'm curious to see what the remixers will do for this number...
