VIDEO PREMIERE: coldplay - magic

coldplay - magic
directed by jonas akerlund, chris martin takes on dual roles as asian star ziyi zhang (crouching tiger hidden dragon) plays the object of their affections. it's a lovely ode to silent films... and a pretty good coldplay song in the process!

GOOD MUSIC MIX: catfish and the bottlemen - kathleen

catfish and the bottlemen - kathleen
gaining popularity the old fashioned way (they gig! they're not incessantly blogged about!), these welsh boys just write decent indie rock tracks and win fans over one performance at a time. love the fact that their current lyric video are all things ewan mcgregor... bless.

DAILY MIX: editors - sugar

editors - shuffle
nothing like messing with your mind by playing with the spatial and audio spaces in the confines of the video. directed by belgian extraodinaire joe vonhoutteghem, the band shot this cool vid over 3 days and well... it's pretty darn awesome!

WONGIE INDIE SONG OF THE WEEK: vance joy - riptide

vance joy - riptide
not only am i obsessed with this cute ditty by aussie singer/songwriter james keogh (aka vance joy) but i'm also fascinated by the confident visuals of the music video by model/director laura gorun (she's also plays various roles in the video). already certified two times platinum in his home country, vance joy is definitely gaining buzz in the UK (playlisted on xfm) and in the US (touring with the amazing tom odell). it's on repeat and should be the same for you too!!!

GUY MIX: the killers - shot at the night

the killers - shot at the night
the 80's electro synthline that permeates this killers/m83 collaboration is wonderfully cinematic, which definitely makes the roboshobo video starring bella heathcote (dark shadows) and max minghella (the social network) really watchable. fall in love in vegas will ya?

NEW LITTLE GREEN CARS!: little green cars - my love took me down to the river to silence me

little green cars - my love took me down to the river to silence me
the LGC finally release a single with secret weapon faye o'rourke on lead vocals! recently celebrating a #1 album back on their home turf of ireland, the little green cars also continue to charm new fans internationally with their tight harmonies and emotionally mature performances. easily one of my fave bands of 2013, go discover them if you're not already a fan!
