CRAM JAM: 10 MORE feat jessie ware / asgeir / milky chance / the griswolds / george ezra / saint raymond / tove lo / lights / bastille / steve angello feat dougy

jessie ware - say you love me (alex adair remix)
what a classy mellow dance remix of this wonderful song!

asgeir - king and cross
a year after we discovered this song, team asgeir FINALLY put out a video to accompany this now classic folktronic gem. still one of the sweetest jams around!

milky chance - down by the river (flic flac edit)
i swear if the german duo release this version, they will have another massive hit on their hands. what a lovely remix by flicflac!

the griswolds - beware the dog
i love the indie party pop sound of these aussie boys! you can hear their musical references throughout the song, but when it's this happy, who the F cares!

george ezra - blame it on me
4th single off george's wonderful debut album 'wanted on voyage' which is accompanied by this funny video directed by roger guardia. nice one!

saint raymond - i want you
at only 19 years old, callum burrows (aka saint raymond) is definitely getting people buzzing over his music. it helps when the songs are as catchy as this one!

tove lo - not on drugs
we buzzed about the single a few weeks back and now here is the trippy video to accompany it!

lights - portal
what a pretty dreamy evening drive soundtrack of a song from the canadian chanteuse. is this your end of the summer anthem?

bastille - bad_news
released as part of the upcoming 'oblivion' EP!

steve angello feat dougy from temper trap - wasted love
superstar dj steve angello ropes in the gorgeous vocals of dougy from the temper trap and brings us this little gem thats the perfect soundtrack to blast at the end of night.

CRAM JAM: 10 MORE SONGS! feat bondax / elliphant / e.n.v / doug locke / coldplay / gerard way / haim / kimbra / katy b / mary lambert

bondax feat tanya lacey - all i see
co-written by mnek and becky hill, this is another soulful dance gem from the UK producers!

elliphant feat skrillex - only getting younger
whoa! newbie ellinor olovsdotter (aka elliphant) really knows how to rip into that dub bass! this time skrillex gets in on the action and well... press play. it's pretty darn good!

e.n.v feat little nikki - your love
a bit of pop house for your weekend thanks to UK producer e.n.v and little nikki!

doug locke - #thiscouldbeus
honestly, anything with a # for a song title is something i try to avoid, but the pure poppery of this single by actor/songwriter doug is just catchy enough for me to forget. throw in the touching video and you've got something pretty decent here.

coldplay - true love
though the song is meh, the jonas akerlund video featuring actress jessica lucas and chris martin, is a sweet story about two big spirits just wanting to dance. LET THE PEOPLE DANCE!!

gerard way - no shows
ex my chemical romance frontman gerard way brings his love of 90's britpop as his new sound as a solo artist. setting up his upcoming 'hesitant alien' debut, this is a catchy fun indie rock number that is miles away from his previous glam rock persona. i'm digging this!

haim feat a$ap ferg - my song 5
with a video featuring a slew of guest stars including snl's vanessa bayer, kesha and ezra koenig from vampire weekend, this song is easily the odd man out from their debut album 'days are gone' (they admitted to being inspired by timbaland). i kinda dig it more because of that!

kimbra - miracle
embracing some serious disco here, this joyous new single by kimbra is just pure happiness!

katy b - little red light
released just in time for last weeks notting hill carnival in london, this reggae tinged number is just perfect for the sound stages of the day.

mary lambert - secrets
the voice of last years 'same love' anthem, gets her own catchy poppy singalong single that you'll be humming along to in no time.

to be very honest, ALL of these songs are wongie songs of the week. but with a bit of a hiatus coming up (work abroad), i figured i'd do a few BIG posts of these amazing songs for you to discover in your own time. they are gems and deserve your love. enjoy these cram mixes!

christine and the queens - saint claude
inspired by her visit to london and immersing herself in the drag community, héloïse letissier (aka christine and the queens) has quickly become the french hipster/fashionista pop star of the moment. if subdued, yet impactful singles like this one are part of her repertoire, we'll be hearing ALOT more from this gem.

husky - i'm not coming back
the perfect post summer folk jam from aussie band husky. setting up their sophomore release 'ruckers hill', this is an exciting tease of things to come!

little may - boardwalks
i mean how can you not love this gentle number from the aussie trio? with their debut EP coming out in october, this is a great single to kickstart their buzz. just wonderful!

odesza feat monsoonsiren - memories that you call

odesza feat zyra - say my name
wait, this glorious sound comes from seattle? college friends harrison mills and clayton knight are definitely gaining overground attention these days with their beautiful layered pop electronica. we love them so much that we are showcasing two tracks from their upcoming 'in return' album!

sheppard - something's missing
we've already fallen in love with this vocal folk pop act through their awesome singalong hit 'geronimo'. it's great to know that they have more equally catchy and charming songs up their sleeves. LOVE these guys!

seafret - give me something
this young UK duo are causing quite a stir with their beautifully acoustic debut single. it's quietly heartbreaking and just the perfect kind of music for me to get obsessive about! brilliant!

vianney - je te deteste
what a fun perfect pop song by debut french artist vianney. a definite local hit over the summer, the song's catchy framework translates beyond language into a gem for your audio pleasure. love this!

generationals - black lemon
high school buddies ted joyner and grant widmer have given us a perfect end of summer pop jam with happy electro boppiness that'll just make you smile. nice one!

christian gregory - count on you
released via michael kiwanuka's label, this retro soul number by new artist christian was recorded in one take! ONE TAKE! this marks for a very exciting debut if you ask me!

SIA WROTE THIS: maroon 5 feat gwen stefani - my heart is open

maroon 5 feat gwen stefani - my heart is open
here's a bit of a change of pace from the rest of today's postings, a lovely ballad penned by sia performed by maroon 5 and adam's voice co-chair of the season, gwen stefani. the thing about sia songs is that i always feel like you can hear her sing the original throughout (and probably better). it's a good ballad though...

REEEMIX!: magic! - rude (zedd remix)

magic! - rude (zedd remix)
just a nice turn by zedd for this summer smash.

WONGIE DUB POP SONG OF THE WEEK: grimes feat blood diamonds - go

grimes feat blood diamonds - go
we've practically had the whole summer to jam to this rihanna rejected track and though it was released as a curiosity piece, it has easily turned into a summer favorite and proper single for grimes. how cool is that?

WONGIE BALLAD OF THE WEEK: ben howard - i forget where we were

ben howard - i forget where we were
after wowing us with his epic album cut 'end of the affair' two weeks back, turns out ben howard had an official single up his sleeve that's equally heartbreaking. setting up the upcoming album and tour with the same name, i'm DEFINITELY feeling the darker tones of what i'm hearing so far. a contender for album of the year perhaps?

jennifer lopez feat iggy azalea - booty (remix)
originally featuring pitbull on the rap verse, jlo ropes in iggy for the remix and hopes to create some buzz on her current meh period. to be totally honest, i kinda wished that iggy took the lead on the song with jlo as a vocal hook instead (the only good things on this diplo produced track are the 'booty' hook and iggy) oh well... i'm sure the upcoming hype williams video will be fabUTTlous!

jessie ware - say you love me
co-written by ed sheeran, this ballad not only is jessie's most commercial adult song, but there's the chanteuse does some amazing things with her vocals here (restrained but utterly soulful). it's a gem and totally sets jessie up for big mass appeal this time around. yaaay!

david guetta feat sam martin - lovers on the sun
roping in ray liotta to star as the baddie in your new video means that you're not doing badly these days! primed to be on summer dance playlists, this collaboration between david guetta, avicii and sam martin is treading on familiar ground, but crowd pleasing enough to not be an issue. plus the video ain't half bad...

DANCE MIX: timmy trumpet - freaks (original version)

timmy trumpet - freaks (original version)
i'm normally NOT a fan of this sort of euro techno, but there's something kind of whimsical about this song (i mean, when the trumpet kicks in midway, you can't help but smile). there's an updated version with a guy named savage rapping over this track (see below), but i personally prefer this original version. dorky and proud of it!

here is the meh-diocre version if you wanna compare...

timmy trumpet feat savage - freaks

DANCE MIX: tensnake & jacques lu cont feat jamie lidell - feel of love

tensnake & jacques lu cont feat jamie lidell - feel of love

slam dunk'd feat chromeo & al-p - no price

WEEKEND CATCH UP: becky hill - caution to the wind

becky hill - caution to the wind
what a subdued interesting debut single for the UK singer/songwriter becky hill. after gaining popularity as a semi finalist in the 1st season of the voice uk, becky found herself as a go to session singer for both wilkinson and oliver heldens (see below) and created massive hits in the process. hence the surprise to hear something so lovely and restrained for becky's first release. i'm definitely curious to see whats in store for this lovely talented ingenue now.

Joy Williams
“I am saddened and disappointed by the ending of this duo, to say the very least. JP is a tremendous musician, and I will always be grateful for the music we were able to create together. I sincerely hope that ‘You Are My Sunshine’ will be accepted as a token of my gratitude for every single person that has supported our duo throughout the years. I’m so thankful and my heart is full. Looking ahead, I’m excited to share the music that I am writing and recording in the midst of this difficult transition. I’ve loved being back in the studio, and have missed performing live. I look forward to seeing you soon.”

John Paul
“I would like to express sincere thanks to all who were a part of the arc of The Civil Wars—from the beginning, to the end, and all points in between. My deep appreciation goes out to all who supported, disseminated, and enjoyed the music. Whatever shape or form the next chapter takes, thanks for being a large part of this one.”
