definitely a more confident sophomore release, 'every open eye' continues to showcase chvrches strong pop songwriting sensibilities filtered with their 80's synth celebratory skills. of course lauren mayberry makes the best frontwoman for all this perfection. between ryan adams and this album, today has been a great day for music!

this is some wonderful psychedelica from the classically trained scotsman chris duncan (aka c duncan). buzzed among the uk blogs for a few months, 'c-dunc' (ok only I am calling him this) is crafting some beautifully layered, borderline choral, electronica with a folk/trippy bent and it's all collected in his debut album 'architect'. definitely nerding out to this all weekend, you should too!!

honestly the 80's celebratory synth pop song by these scottish lads speaks for itself! with only a few EP's under their belt, the trio are heading over stateside for a mini tour before going back to the UK summer festival circuit. i'm sure we'll be hearing alot from them in the coming months... and that makes me happy!

i always need to be reminded that the music of simon neil and his band biffy clyro is usually good to my ears (i just need to get over their hard rock persona that they've cultivated over the past decade). in fact, they actually craft really wonderful songs such as their current single taken off their UK #1 album opposites. with a catchy chorus culminating into a massive singalong, i'm definitely curious to check out the rest of the album now. don't say i'm not open minded!
